Day of solidarity for children: the project
Since its creation, The Ultramar Foundation has organized many fundraising activities for children in need. "La Grande Ruée" was, until now, the main vehicle to financially assist the organizations supported by the Foundation. With a new concept this year, the first edition of Day of Solidarity for Children was held on Saturday, September 10 at the Tower Clock in the Old Port of Montreal. The event was a great success: more than 700 people attended to celebrate our commitment to such an important cause: the children.
Since its creation in 2013, the Ultramar Foundation has distributed nearly $3,000,000 to organizations dedicated to the cause of children.
The day's program included beautiful weather and lots of fun! The site hosted a giant slide, games, musical performances, face painting and mask workshops for the little ones, free snacks and beverages, and much more.
This first edition of the Day of Solidarity for Children allowed us to raise $175,000 and all these funds will be distributed to different organizations in our community.
A huge thank you to all those who came to celebrate with us, to the volunteers for their dedication and availability, to the various people who put time and energy into planning the event and a special thank you to our many partners who made this day a great success.
We look forward to seeing you next year!
